Movieathon Review: The Road, Zombieland, & Shawshank Redemption

Last night was a movie night. My boyfriend and I went out, bought some drinks and delicious snacks, and camped out on the couch for a five hour long movieathon. Normally I don't sit through more than one movie without fidgeting or getting up to walk around, but he managed to get me to sit through three; I think this is a statement to the movies that we watched. I'll review them in the order that works best for me, although we watched them in the opposite order (a bad idea, if you ask me; we ended with the most depressing one).

( The Road )

The next two reviews will be shorter, I promise.

( Zombieland )

And, finally:

( The Shawshank Redemption )

And I think that's about it. We definitely need to make movie nights a monthly ordeal, since we never spend time together any more (despite living together!) and I really enjoyed it.

comments

Games to Beat

So, because I am terrible and lately I tend to get to the end of the game before losing the desire to beat it, I'm setting up a list of the games I need to beat and in a vague order of priority. If I stick to this and insist that I don't stray from it, I should hopefully make progress. As an incentive, I'm justifying the purchase of a new game with every seven games I beat. The list will keep this in mind and insert where and what game accordingly.

Some rules:
- If I come to a game and I find that I just can't, for the life of me, get into it, I am allowed to move on to another game in that bracket. In the event that there aren't any other games in that bracket to move on to - ie, the game I'm stuck on is the last one left - then I will have to just tough through it and try to beat it anyway.
- Game rewards can be started as soon as they are purchased as long as progress on the next bracket is continued or the game is beaten, preventing it from joining the never-ending list.
- There is no time limit, although I would like to get down to five games left unbeaten by the end of the year. I'm currently at 33 before weeding out the ones I've generally disliked and will either sell or give away to friends (including what's listed here, minus some).
- If, for whatever reason, I lose access to the system required for a specific game, I can switch it out for something else in my pile OR I can set it aside and move on. This is only likely to happen with three of the listed games, which belong to my boyfriend or are on his computer (we live apart over the summer, together during the school year).

( let the game beating commence! )

1 / 33 games. 3% done!

comments
