vDex Project Update

So I wanted to make a comprehensive list of all the things in vDex that I'm currently working toward collecting in one way or another. I have a few major goals going, and having a better list will help. This is part of my "reorganize vDex so I know what the hell is even going on" plan, since my PC and collections were/are a nightmare of disorder and confusion.

Main Goals:
*Retro/Shiny ghost collection, which can be viewed here.
<s>*A living Pokedex, which spans my PC.
*Collecting all 493 Pokemon, which has some limitations at the moment because of future updates to the partner system and future events. Current Pokedex stats: Seen 453, Caught 452. 91% complete.
*Gold/Silver version collection, also viewable in my collection page. This isn't a top priority and is more of something for fun. I have no goal set for this.</s>
*BERRIES FOR EVERSTONE alksdhgalskdhf. I think I've been growing them for forever. ;A;

And a breakdown of the goals, what I still need, and what I want to shoot for.

( Ghost Collection Details )

Some of these ghosts are going to be close to impossible to acquire (shiny Giratina and Rotom? Yeah, right) and some will require luck and breeding. It's good to see the Haunter section so close to completion, though. If only I could find my shiny Gastly.

The living Pokedex is pretty self-explanatory. I might make a list of what I need later, but for now the PC itself is serving as a good checklist. I still need to organize gens II-IV, but the PC is a mess and I have work soon, so that will have to wait.

Completing the 'dex is also pretty easy to figure out, since the 'dex itself serves as a checklist. With Lyrit as my current partner, I'll have Moltres soon, and will have all original 151 Pokemon, which is hella exciting.

comments

General Tso's Chicken and Easy Cinnamon Cookies

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try making our own foods at home rather than eating prepackaged food and Hamburger Helper. Last night we took the leap and decided to try his all-time favorite meal: General Tso's Chicken. We roughly followed the recipe we found on the bottle of General Tso's sauce, but made a few changes where we thought necessary.

( General Tso's Chicken )

And then I made dessert, just because we felt like going all out last night: Cinnamon Cookies!

( Cinnamon Cookies )

Now to spend my extra day free from classes to actually do my final papers and not cook and bake, haha.

comments

Fandoms

Another info dump, best suited for learning more about me and checking in on what I love to read/write/talk about. This is a list of fandoms, pairings in those fandoms, kinks, and things I absolutely will not read. As per usual, **denotes an absolute favorite and one I've written extensively for in the past.

( fandoms and pairings )

Post is in progress.
Progress Thoughts on Crisis Core

So I'm currently playing Crisis Core for the PSP. I know it's not next up in my game challenge, but I think I need to revise that, because it's turning out that I can't force myself to play a game I'm not in the mood for. Which is fine, as long as I'm still beating games, I think. Anyway.

( spoilers for CC abound! )

comments

Game List

This is a list of all the video games I've ever played. It gives a good idea of my tastes, interests, and possible fandoms. If you want me to write something for you, this is a good list to check first; if it doesn't show up here, there's no chance I can write for it. Sorry! There are games that I own that aren't on this list; this is because I haven't actually beat them yet. If/when that changes, this list will be updated. **Denotes a favorite game.

( list total is currently 90! )

comments

Movieathon Review: The Road, Zombieland, & Shawshank Redemption

Last night was a movie night. My boyfriend and I went out, bought some drinks and delicious snacks, and camped out on the couch for a five hour long movieathon. Normally I don't sit through more than one movie without fidgeting or getting up to walk around, but he managed to get me to sit through three; I think this is a statement to the movies that we watched. I'll review them in the order that works best for me, although we watched them in the opposite order (a bad idea, if you ask me; we ended with the most depressing one).

( The Road )

The next two reviews will be shorter, I promise.

( Zombieland )

And, finally:

( The Shawshank Redemption )

And I think that's about it. We definitely need to make movie nights a monthly ordeal, since we never spend time together any more (despite living together!) and I really enjoyed it.

comments

Games to Beat

So, because I am terrible and lately I tend to get to the end of the game before losing the desire to beat it, I'm setting up a list of the games I need to beat and in a vague order of priority. If I stick to this and insist that I don't stray from it, I should hopefully make progress. As an incentive, I'm justifying the purchase of a new game with every seven games I beat. The list will keep this in mind and insert where and what game accordingly.

Some rules:
- If I come to a game and I find that I just can't, for the life of me, get into it, I am allowed to move on to another game in that bracket. In the event that there aren't any other games in that bracket to move on to - ie, the game I'm stuck on is the last one left - then I will have to just tough through it and try to beat it anyway.
- Game rewards can be started as soon as they are purchased as long as progress on the next bracket is continued or the game is beaten, preventing it from joining the never-ending list.
- There is no time limit, although I would like to get down to five games left unbeaten by the end of the year. I'm currently at 33 before weeding out the ones I've generally disliked and will either sell or give away to friends (including what's listed here, minus some).
- If, for whatever reason, I lose access to the system required for a specific game, I can switch it out for something else in my pile OR I can set it aside and move on. This is only likely to happen with three of the listed games, which belong to my boyfriend or are on his computer (we live apart over the summer, together during the school year).

( let the game beating commence! )

1 / 33 games. 3% done!

comments

Friends Only (Sort of)

This journal is friends only (sort of).

Locked:
Life stuff
Plotting
Original fiction

Not Locked:
Fanfiction/fanmixes/etc.
Baking experiments
Reviews

Comment if you want access!
-Subscribing is fine on anyone's part. If I like what's in your journal, I'll probably return the favor. However, gaining access is a little more restrictive. I have to have met you before and talked to you to a reasonable degree, since most of what I post about under lock and key is personal life stuff. I'm not opposed to giving access, I just want to make sure we know each other well enough first. :]

comments
